From the Executive Director

Hello and welcome to our November Newsletter:

Vote, Vote and Vote.

Yes, that’s one of our most pressing messages The Campaign To Keep Guns Off Campus can convey to you over the next several days. If you have not yet voted, please exercise this vital right either by early voting (where available) or showing up on Election Day itself – Tuesday, November 8th. We have included important links below to help you know who’s on your ballot and where to cast your vote.

Now that we reminded folks to please vote, let’s talk about what’s been happening and preview this month’s newsletter.

Thanks so much to our supporters and friends who helped make our 2022 Annual Benefit at Manhattanville College a tremendous success. We raised over $45,000 and cannot thank everyone enough. Special thanks to our amazing honorees: Rep. Jennifer Longdon (D-AZ), Kiki Leyba (Columbine H.S. educator), John Johnson (Campaign co-founder and Board chair) and Jackie Williams Kaye (retiring board member).

On the federal level, we continue to work with our colleagues to push the U.S. Senate to pass the Federal Ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and Ethan’s Law – requiring safe gun storage. These bills have already passed the House and you can take action below to help push them through the Senate.

The Campaign thanks you for taking actions when we ask and for supporting us with your gifts. Please consider becoming a monthly, sustaining member of The Campaign.

These consistent donations make a real difference in allowing our work to continue, saving more lives.

Federal and NYS employees, take special note of our links below where you can designate pre-tax donations to The Campaign via your respective annual CFC and SEFA workplace giving campaigns.

We know it’s early, but Happy Thanksgiving from The Campaign.

Now get out there and vote!

Thanks for all you do!

Andy Pelosi, Executive Director/Co-Founder

Ban Assault Weapons And High-Capacity Magazines

It is well past time to reinstate the Federal Assault Weapons Ban with newly modernized provisions. These instruments of war do not belong in the hands of the civilian public.

Ethan’s Law – Requiring the Safe Storage of Firearms

We believe all firearms should be safely stored away whenever children are present – in the home or in the workplace. This is a common sense provision all can agree upon that is also overdue to become law.
